An Update on Some Work Being Done
I apologize to anyone that has periodically checked my site to see that a new log has not been made in some time. Currently, I am busy on so many different fronts. Last week, in partnership with Care About South Park I took part in a truly amazing grassroots protest against corporate influence in the South Park area. The experience of seeing and talking to so many young and engaged citizens really warmed my heart. Oftentimes it is easy to think that the so-called, “new generation” of young people are self-involved, Twitter checking, Instagram following students. But for anyone with that preconceived notion, I ask you to visit South Park, San Diego. I think that the future of this city is bright, if it is to rest in the hands of individuals like the ones that engaged in our rally last Sunday.
Additionally, I have been busy with flights to and from Washington D.C. I had the chance to speak with White House officials recently and I feel that the tides of progress are beginning to make themselves more and more apparent. Based off of the most recent conversations, I believe that it is clear within the White House that genocidal acts are occurring against the Christians of Iraq and Syria. The issue is, figuring out how to fix it. I believe and hope that the next step for our people is attaining an executive action providing greater securities for those religious minorities displaced by ISIS. I am planning on meeting White House officials once again at the end of the month and will provide more updates as they come to my attention.
